About these terms

These terms apply when you use Lateral Intelligence (lateralintelligence.ai), run by PJ Consulting Group Ltd (company number [to confirm], registered office [to confirm]). By creating an account you agree to them. How we handle your information is set out in our privacy notice.

The service

Lateral Intelligence is free for lawyers at the London law firms it covers. It gives you a weekly brief of sourced market news, a regulatory calendar, events, senior moves, a PQE salary table, factual firm profiles, a career chat and the option to book a free, confidential consultation. We may change, add or withdraw parts of the service, and we will tell members about significant changes.

Your account

• You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that email account secure; anyone who can open it can sign in as you.
• The account is for you alone. Please do not share it or let others use it.
• Give accurate details about your practices and PQE, so what you see is right for you.
• You can delete your account at any time in your settings.

What the information is, and is not

• Every item comes from a named, published source, which we link to and summarise in a line. We check items before they are shown, but sources can be wrong or change. Read the source before relying on anything.
• Salary figures are published figures from named sources, or the middle of what at least five members submitted. They are a guide, not an offer or a valuation of you.
• Firm profiles hold facts from published sources, each dated. We do not rate or rank firms.
• The career chat is an AI assistant. It answers only from the information on this site, cites its sources, and can still be incomplete. It is general information, not legal, financial, tax or regulatory advice, and not advice about your own contract.
• Nothing on the site is a recommendation to act. Decisions about your career are yours.

Consultations

A consultation is a free, confidential call with a Lateral Intelligence specialist. There is no obligation. Nothing about you is shared with any law firm unless you agree it with us, firm by firm.

Fair use

Please do not:

• copy, scrape or download the site's content in bulk, or use automated tools to access it;
• republish our summaries, tables or profiles other than through the share buttons, which link back to the source;
• submit salary figures that are not your own, or try to identify anyone from the salary table;
• use the career chat to try to obtain information about individuals or to misuse it.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Content and ownership

Headlines and articles belong to their publishers; we link to them and summarise them in a line. The site's design, summaries, tables and profiles belong to PJ Consulting Group Ltd. You keep ownership of what you write in notes and chat.

Our responsibility to you

We provide the service free of charge and with reasonable care, but we cannot promise it will always be available, complete or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from relying on the information on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law [to confirm with legal advice].

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
